Dura-Shine Clean Sergio Martinez Memorial Scholarship Winner Selected

Dura-Shine Clean is honored to announce Isabel Velasquez as the recipient of the 2013 Dura-Shine Clean Sergio Martinez Memorial Scholarship.

Washington State University Tri-Cities selected Isabel for her academic achievements and personal growth through organizations like the Future Farmers of America. Members of Dura-Shine Clean had the pleasure of meeting the beneficiary at a special scholarship recognition event hosted by WSU Tri-Cities at the Three Rivers Convention Center. Ms. Velasquez was also awarded a WSU Tri-Cities Columbia Crimson Alumni Scholarship and is planning on pursuing a career in Education.

This is the first year Co-founder and CEO Carlos Martinez started the $1,000 scholarship. “I’ve always wanted to find a way to honor my brother who passed in 1990,” commented Carlos. “Knowing that Dura-Shine Clean, and the Martinez family, can help pave the way for someone to pursue their dreams felt like a perfect tribute.”

The Dura-Shine Clean Sergio Martinez Memorial Scholarship is available annually at Washington State University Tri-Cities, to assist students pursuing higher education. Students eligible for this scholarship must be an incoming freshman, maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average, and enrolled full-time. Honoring the Martinez’s culture, eligible students must also be a member of an underrepresented heritage or group.
